In the spirit of continuing the programming of IPA III and developing operational programs, the European Commission organized a regional TAIEX workshop in Belgrade from January 30 to February 1, 2023. The event aimed to support the institutional development of operational programs under IPA III in the Western Balkans. Additionally, the goal was to share lessons learned and best practices in the implementation of operational programs in EU member states, which can be applied to the enlargement context and the types of operational programs to be implemented under IPA III. This includes the institutional development of existing and future structures responsible for implementing operational programs.

Participants in the workshop included representatives from relevant institutions in Albania, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia, as well as representatives from the EU Delegation and the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR), TAIEX, and Promel experts. They exchanged views, solutions, and practices to prepare for and implement Operational Programs under IPA III.

The workshop was organized and funded by the TAIEX program.

The Chief Auditor, Ksenija Barjaktarović, represented the Audit Authority of Montenegro at the workshop.
