Workshop “Auditing Structural Reforms within the Instrument for Reforms and Growth”

From 8 to 9 April 2026, a workshop entitled “Auditing Structural Reforms within the Instrument for Reforms and Growth” was held in Podgorica, as part of a joint initiative supported by the Centre of Excellence in Finance (CEF), funded by the European Union.

The workshop brought together representatives of the Audit Authority of Montenegro, the central harmonisation unit within the Ministry of Finance, internal audit units of state institutions, and international experts, as well as representatives of the European Delegation, with the aim of strengthening capacities for planning, conducting, and reporting on audits under the Instrument for Reforms and Growth. Representatives of the Audit Authority actively took part in discussions and group work.

During the workshop, participants discussed the planning of audits of reform steps, risk assessment, the methodology for fieldwork, and reporting.

A special segment focused on comparing the experiences of the European Union Croatia Programme Implementation Audit Agency (ARPA), as well as presentations by the internal audit expert, contributing to a better understanding of the audit process and the role of audit reports in strengthening confidence in the system and protecting the financial interests of the European Union.
